Which Multilo features work where and on which plan: desktop app vs website, what runs on your computer vs what needs a connection or credits, and Free vs Pro vs Pro+.
Everything Multilo does on your own computer — the editor, your projects, your library, search, and history — works on every plan. What changes from plan to plan is the AI work: how many credits you get each month, which models you can use, and how far some AI features go.
In the tables below, ✓ means available and ✗ means not available. Limited means you can use the feature, within tighter limits, and Basic means a simpler version.

Windows and macOS
Multilo is a desktop app for Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit) and macOS 12 or later (Apple Silicon or Intel). There is no Linux version. Everything on this page refers to the desktop app unless it says otherwise. See system requirements.
Desktop app, website, and marketplace
Your writing happens in the desktop app. Your account lives on the website, and add-ons come from the marketplace.

What runs on your computer
Multilo is local-first. A lot of it never needs the internet; the AI features need a connection to reach a model.
Works on every plan, without credits
Local work runs on your computer and doesn’t use credits:
- opening and editing documents, including Word, Markdown, and LaTeX;
- viewing images in the built-in Image Viewer;
- browsing your library;
- searching your project by keyword;
- your project history and trash;
- your .multilo/ instructions and memory files.
The pricing page lists the same idea as included on every plan: citing across your PDFs, opening and reading anything, searching your whole project, the reference manager, the rich writing editor, and the PDF reader.
Needs an AI model (uses credits)
Anything that calls an AI model uses credits: chat, inline suggestions, and agents such as the Full Draft Writer and Claim Check. Local steps an agent takes between model calls, such as reading a file, don’t cost credits on their own. See credits.
Needs an internet connection
- every AI feature, since the model runs in the cloud;
- signing in and connecting your account;
- web searches for sources, for example in Sources Hub;
- installing extensions and skills from the marketplace;
- app updates.

Included credits reset each billing period, and unused credits don’t roll over. When credits run out, AI requests pause until your next period unless you have turned on pay-as-you-go — nothing is charged without your choice. See plans & billing.
Summary by plan
- Free: everything that runs on your computer, plus 25 credits a month for AI work. Most AI features are available with tighter limits. Not included: the research gap auditor and pay-as-you-go.
- Pro: 1,000 credits a month, every feature in the table, all top-tier models, and opt-in pay-as-you-go.
- Pro+: everything in Pro, with 3,900 credits a month and priority model access.
Upgrading keeps your projects and settings as they are; only your allowance and available models grow.

Model availability
Which models you can choose depends on your plan: Free includes a set of free models, and Pro and Pro+ include all premium models. Within what your plan allows, models also differ in what they can do — the model picker marks each one with a badge such as Agent, Chat only, or Long ctx. See how AI models work.
If the model you picked can’t handle a request, Auto sends that turn to a capable model — but only ever one your plan includes. The exact list of models changes as new ones arrive; the model picker in the app always shows what’s available to you.
