Authentication
How you sign in to Multilo on the web and in the desktop app, how your sign-in is kept safe, and how to sign out, reset a password, or fix a sign-in that won't complete.
You use one Multilo account everywhere: on multilo.com and in the desktop app. You sign in on the web with Google or with an email and password, and you connect the desktop app to that account once on each device. Connecting is what lets agents call AI models and puts your plan and credits to work.
This page explains how signing in works, how your sign-in is kept safe, and how to sign out, reset a password, or fix a sign-in that won’t complete. For the click-by-click connection steps, see Sign in & connect your account.
Sign in to Multilo
After you install Multilo, open it. On first launch the app asks you to connect your account:
Choose Connect
On first launch, or later from Settings → Account, choose Connect. Multilo opens your web browser.Sign in in your browser
Sign in to multilo.com with Google or with your email and password. If you are already signed in, this step is skipped.Approve the connection
Approve the connection. Your browser hands it back to the app, and the app shows your account, plan, and credits. If the hand-back is blocked
Some firewalls and antivirus tools stop the browser from opening the app. Then copy the connection key from multilo.com/connect and choose Paste connection key in the app. See use a connection key.
You only do this once per device. To sign out of the desktop app, go to Settings → Account. If something goes wrong, see Troubleshooting sign-in.
Ways to sign in
Multilo offers two ways to sign in:
| Method | How it works |
|---|---|
| Choose Continue with Google, or accept the Google prompt when it appears. Your Multilo account is created the first time you use it, and there is no separate password to remember. | |
| Email and password | Sign up with your email address and a password, then confirm your email from the link Multilo sends you. On the sign-in page, enter your email first; the password field appears next. |
One account can use both. If you signed up with Google, you can add a password later from your account’s Settings → Security page with Email me a link.
Create an account
Create a free account at multilo.com/signup.
- With Google: one click, and you’re in.
- With email: choose a password, then open the verification email and click the link. You can’t sign in with your password until your email is confirmed.
About the verification link:
- It works once and expires after 24 hours.
- Asking for a new link cancels the older ones, so always use the most recent email.
- You can ask for a new link every 30 seconds.
Your password must be 10 to 128 characters and use at least three of these: lowercase letters, uppercase letters, numbers, and symbols. Multilo doesn’t accept disposable email addresses.
Reset or change your password
Forgot your password? Go to multilo.com/forgot-password and enter your email. The reset link works once and expires after 1 hour. Using it also confirms your email address if you hadn’t yet.
Want to change it? Go to Settings → Security and enter your current password and a new one.
Signed up with Google? There is no password to reset. Sign in with Google, or create a password from Settings → Security with Email me a link.
Resetting or changing a password signs you out everywhere
For your safety, a new password ends every session: each connected desktop app and every browser, including the one you are using. Multilo emails you to confirm the change. Sign in again, and connect the desktop app again on each device.Connect the desktop app
The desktop app never asks for your password. You sign in in your browser, and the browser gives the app its own sign-in for that device. There are two ways to hand it over:
| Way | When to use it |
|---|---|
| Automatic hand-back | The default. After you approve in the browser, the app picks up the connection on its own. |
| Copy and paste | When a firewall, VPN, or antivirus blocks the hand-back. Copy the connection key from multilo.com/connect and paste it into the app. |
Each device you connect has its own sign-in, so signing out one laptop doesn’t affect another. Step-by-step instructions are on Sign in & connect your account.
How your sign-in is kept safe
- On the web, you stay signed in for up to 30 days, renewed while you use the site.
- In the desktop app, the app holds a signed, time-limited sign-in for that device — never your password. If it expires or is signed out, connect again.
- Repeated wrong passwords are slowed down. Your account is not locked, so an attacker can’t lock you out.
- Security emails tell you when something important happens:
- several failed sign-in attempts in a short time;
- a sign-in from a country you haven’t used before;
- your password was changed or reset.
If you get a security email you don’t recognize, sign out everywhere and change your password straight away.
Sessions and signing out
- Sign out on the web from the account menu at the top of multilo.com.
- Sign out of the desktop app from Settings → Account in the app.
- See where you’re signed in on your account’s Settings → Security page, under Where you’re signed in. It lists each connected desktop device.
- Sign out one device with its Sign out button — useful for a computer you no longer use.
- Sign out everywhere ends every desktop sign-in and every web session at once.
Lost a laptop?
Use Sign out everywhere, then change your password. Your projects are files on that computer, so also follow your organization’s advice for a lost device.Teams and organizations
Sign-in is personal: each person uses their own Google account or email and password. If your organization needs single sign-on (SSO), ask us about the Enterprise plan through contact & community.
Tokens for extension publishers
If you publish extensions, the publishing command-line tool needs its own token. Create it on the website: open multilo.com/extensions/manage, choose Generate a CLI token, and paste it into:
multilo login --token <token>The token lasts 30 days and only works for publishing and managing your extensions — it can’t be used to sign in to your account. Treat it like a password and don’t commit it to a shared repository.
Change your email or delete your account
- Email address: you can’t change it yourself. Contact support and we’ll help.
- Delete your account: go to Settings → Your data and choose Delete my account. You confirm twice, any subscription is cancelled, and you get an email when it’s done. Deletion is permanent. Projects on your computer are your own files and are not touched.
Troubleshooting sign-in
| Problem | What to do |
|---|---|
| “Invalid email or password” right after signing up | Confirm your email first — check your inbox and spam folder for the verification email, or ask for a new link. |
| A verification or reset link says it is invalid or expired | Links work once, and only the newest one works. Verification links last 24 hours and reset links 1 hour. Ask for a new one and use it straight away. |
| No password reset email arrives | If you signed up with Google, there is no password to reset. Use Continue with Google. |
| The browser doesn’t hand back to the app | Copy the connection key from multilo.com/connect and paste it into the app. |
| Connecting still fails | Check that you are signed in to the right account in your browser, that your computer’s clock is correct, and that no VPN is changing traffic to multilo.com. |
| The desktop app was signed out unexpectedly | A password change or reset, or Sign out everywhere, ends every session. Connect again. |
| Sign-in attempts are being refused | After many attempts in a row, sign-in is slowed down for a short time. Wait a minute, then try again with the right password. |

Security tips
- Treat connection keys and tokens like passwords. Only paste one you just got from multilo.com/connect yourself, and never share it.
- Use a strong password you don’t use anywhere else.
- Keep your email account secure — it is how you reset your password and get security emails.
- Check Where you’re signed in now and then, and sign out devices you no longer use.
